Honored eight times as Coach of the Year (1967, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1976, 1978, 1979 and 1981) in District 5, and two times Coach of the Year at the state level. He coached in the North-South All-Star Cage Classic in 1967 and 1978.

The Ohio High School Football Coaches Association annually presents the Art Teynor Award to the outstanding football player in Ohio.

The award is named for Art to help keep his name alive in Ohio high school football.

Lee Sternberg East Canton OATCC Hall of Fame 2001

Coached all-Ohioans such as Mike Dorto, Scott Wyler, and Chris Williamson, plus six others during his twenty-seven years as cross country coach at East Canton HS. Team accomplishments include: 175 wins and 40 losses, 80 invitational,15 league, 17 district (13 in a row), 6 regional, and 1 state championship (1998; state qualifiers 15 of the last 19 years). Mr. Sternberg has also worked as the head of the coaches' poll in his district and often has been a clinician.
